Figured while we had the engine torn down in our inboard outboard boat, it was the best time to replace the bilge pump on this sterndrive Bayliner. The bilge pump started smoking when we were washing the boat out and filled the bilge with water. It was a scramble to get it unplugged so it would not damage any wiring more than it was. This is a dirty job, but a must to keep water out of the boat when it is in the ocean.

  1. Very helpful post. I was having trouble installing pump on the bilge. Water has been flowing in into my kayak. Seems to have some leaks on on the boat , so i needed to install a pump on board. Your post helped a lot. Thanks for sharing.
