Exploring Fort Lauderdale's Boating Adventures

Cleaning Up the Boat

Every boat owner knows that maintenance is key, and today, it’s time to tackle some green slime that has found its way onto our boat. It’s a task that can’t be ignored, especially if you want to keep your vessel looking sharp. While I got started on cleaning, I had to pause because it was spear thirty—time to grab some grub!

As we prepared to head out, everything looked good. The chain was in place, and the boat pup was ready to roll. With the sun shining and the tide low, we were set to navigate under the bridge without any issues. The adventure begins as we cruise along, the water smooth and inviting.

A Quick Stop at the Raw Bar

Our first destination was the Raw Bar, a local favorite. It’s not just a place to grab a bite; it’s where we can also dispose of our trash. As we approached, I noted how many people were enjoying the calm waters. The atmosphere was lively, and our pup, Archer Archibela, was on full alert, ready for whatever came next.

After securing our spot at the docks, it was time for a quick bite. The Raw Bar is not just about food; it’s also a hub for the boating community. There’s a dumpster nearby for all the waste from our adventures, which is super convenient. My babe and the pup joined me, and we settled in for a delicious meal.

Running Errands in Fort Lauderdale

After our satisfying lunch, it was time to run some errands. Just down the road from the Raw Bar is a Winn Dixie, where we needed to pick up some essentials—Pogo, potatoes, and onions were on the list. I love how everything we need is so accessible here in Fort Lauderdale.

While we were there, we also spotted an Ace Hardware nearby. We picked up some plumbing parts we desperately needed. It’s these little conveniences that make life on the water so much easier. Plus, with the dog in tow, it made for a fun outing.

Setting Up for the Bahamas

Next on our list was to get our phones set up for international use. We stopped by a small store close to the Raw Bar where they offered services for setting up phones for the Bahamas. If you have T-Mobile, you can download the T Life app to manage your international plan. It’s a lifesaver for anyone traveling abroad!

With our errands wrapped up, we made our way back to the boat. It was a bit hot out, and I could feel the heat from my knees, but we made it work. Danielle was a trooper, and I was grateful for her help. We had everything we needed, and it was time to head back to the boat for some relaxation.

New Products and Exciting Discoveries

While we were out, Danielle picked up a new product called Tallow Honey Balm. It’s an organic skin care product made from grass-fed beef tallow, manuka honey, and a blend of other natural ingredients. I was intrigued by its claims to help with aging, acne, and sensitive skin types. We couldn’t wait to try it out!

As we opened the box, we were excited to see how it smelled and felt. The glass bottle was sleek, and the product itself was rich but without any overpowering scent. It’s always fun to experiment with new natural products, especially ones that could help with skin issues I’ve dealt with in the past.

Lighting Up the Night

After our shopping spree, I decided to test out some new battery-operated Navionics lights I ordered from Amazon. They were incredibly affordable and came with everything needed to set them up. I wasn’t sponsored, but I loved how convenient and effective they were.

Each set included two white lights, a green light, and a red light. For those new to boating, remember this: green lights go on the starboard side (the right side), and red lights go on the port side (the left side). The white lights? They go at the back of the boat. It’s essential to have these lights set up correctly for safety reasons, especially when you’re out on the water at night.

Conclusion: Embracing the Boating Lifestyle

Our day in Fort Lauderdale was not just about chores; it was filled with moments of joy, discovery, and the simple pleasures of life on the water. Whether we were cleaning the boat, enjoying a meal at the Raw Bar, or trying out new products, every moment was a reminder of why we love this lifestyle.

As we continue our adventures, we look forward to sharing more experiences with you. Life on the water is always an adventure, and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
