Salsa so Fresh and Chunky, This Pico De Gallo is perfect for your next Party! With Flavors of Cilantro, Jalapenos and Lemon Marinated together make this Salsa a Family Favorite!

We started making this Chunky Fresh Salsa over 5 years ago when we lived in Texas! We have experimented with different ingredients and this version is the Winner in our house! It is Full of flavor and lots of Chunky Vegetables! The Cilantro and Garlic just top this Dip off, So Delicious! Our Salsa is a must when we want a Party Appetizer!

Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Refrigerator Marination Time: 2 Hours
Serves 6 – 8 (Or Party Appetizer Dip!)
Fresh Pico De Gallo with Cilantro - Dining in with Danielle

Simple Chunky Fresh Salsa Ingredients:

4 Firm Plum Tomatoes
1 Medium Onion
4 – 6 Jalapenos (Depending on how Spicy you want your Salsa, 4 is Mild!)
4 Tablespoons Fresh Cilantro Minced
3 Tablespoons Fresh Minced Garlic (About 3 Cloves of Garlic)
3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
2 Teaspoons Salt
1 Teaspoon Black Pepper 

Simple Chunky Fresh Salsa Instructions:

1. First Step, You will need a Bowl with a Lid. Next is Cutting the Onion. After you peel the Onion, Cut the Onion in Half from stem to stem. Lay the halves flat, then cut about 6 slices Stem to Stem, then cut the other way to make Chunks! Add the Onions to the Bowl.

TIP: We cut our Onions this way because it is less chance of cutting yourself, don’t try to cut Round Vegetables, Just cut them in half.

2. Now you will chop up the Tomatoes. Since this is a Chunky Salsa, the best way is to cut the Plum Tomatoes Long way, lay the tomato flat then slice the half of tomato in to 4 – 5 slices, cut the other direction to cut in to chunks. Add the cut up Tomatoes to the bowl!

3. Next you will cut up the Jalapenos. Cut off the Stem, then slice them in half long way. Scoop out the seeds with a spoon. Now cut the Jalapenos in half long way again. Then slice the other way to get your Jalapeno Chunks. Add to the bowl!

4. Now you will need to chop up the Fresh Cilantro and add it to the bowl. Next add Fresh Minced Garlic, Lemon Juice, Salt and Pepper. Mix up all the Ingredients really well.

5. Put the lid on and Marinate in the Refrigerator for 2 Hours. You can marinate longer if preferred but if your family is impatient like mine, 2 Hours will marry the ingredients for a Delicious Salsa! Mix the Salsa after Marination, you will notice a lot of liquid from all the Fresh Vegetables! You will also notice the vegetables look a little opaque, this is from 2 Hours of Refrigeration. There is a huge difference in flavor before and after marinating!
