Slow Cooker Bacon Split Pea Soup Ingredients:

16 Ounces Dry Green Split Peas
6 Cups Water
5 Teaspoons Chicken Better Than Bouillon 
4 Tablespoons Fresh Minced Garlic (about 4 cloves)
3 Teaspoons Ground Cumin
2 Teaspoons Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper

6 Strips of Bacon (we use Turkey Bacon)

TIP: If you are using Boxed or Canned Chicken Broth, Add 6 Cups and Do Not add water or the Better Than Bouillon!

Slow Cooker Bacon Split Pea Soup Instructions:

1. In the Slow Cooker or Crockpot, Add Dry Green Split Peas, Water, Chicken Bouillon, Fresh Minced Garlic, Ground Cumin, Chili Powder and Ground Black Pepper.

2.  Next, stir all the Ingredients together and Put the Lid on. Turn the Temperature on High and Slow Cook for 4 – 5 Hours or until Creamy. Then Cook the Bacon till Crispy, we do this in the Oven at 350 Degrees F for 35 Minutes. Chop up the Bacon in to Little Bits and Add it too the Split Pea Soup Before Serving. Save some for Bacon Bit Garnish!
