Okay guys, we're gonna do some maintenance on our condenser out here in the side of our yard
0:07
Because we like them cool AC bills you know like the low temperature as far as dollar amount
0:13
It's high out here right now. It's high out here but in the house stays cool we do this about once a year and it is a must if you want to keep your AC
0:25
optimal running because everybody likes cool running and And when your AC is out, it's a problem
0:34
No, we've had that problem before. See, y'all stay tuned. Turn on a cat
0:46
I'm a covered. It's a 16-8 fan
0:56
We've got my, you're in a temperature switch. You keep wiping the jeep
1:01
That, you're sweating on everything. The whole floor on here. I can't set that
1:06
Okay, we didn't have to move the exhaust. We didn't have to jack up
1:11
We didn't have to do anything. Okay, guys
1:25
So today we're making in the outdoor condenser for our AC. unit. Now this is a four and a half tonne. There's two coals inside here. So we're going to have to take this
1:36
kind of a park to get on the inside and the outside and clean that well. I clean mine often
1:44
It helps with your efficiency. Also in this video, there's probably going to be a lot of sweating
1:49
Why you keep wiping the Jeep? You just sweating on everything. The whole floor over here. I can't step back any further
1:57
But now we're going to make sure that we're not getting power. to this outside unit so we can do our maintenance and there are three ways you can shut
2:06
off your unit you can turn it off in here by simply go into system and then off and that
2:14
will turn the system off this may not be the best option because it's going to warm up in the house
2:20
so maybe turn it back on or you can go at your breaker box look at
2:29
AC heat right here and you can flip these breakers up and this is a better option because more than likely somebody's not going to turn these back on but you also can't see these positions so the best option would probably be near your AC system there should be a box like this right here beside it you can open that up and you can just turn off this breaker here you may have a pull switch that you have to pull
2:59
out and this keeps your compressor from coming on and also you're right here so nobody's
3:07
not turn this back on now there are units turned off and we know it's not coming back on
3:13
the tools we're going to need is I'm going to use a impact driver you can adjust
3:20
my impact driver to basically where it's very soft so it's not going to strip out the bolts
3:28
and it will save the effort. Maybe reduce some sweaty. We're going to use basically a soft bristle brush if needed
3:36
Basically this gets any debris out of your cooling fins but you don want to bend your cooling fins If you have big cooling fins they sell tools I leave links down below where you can actually
3:48
straighten them fins because that also hurts the efficiency of your AC unit
3:55
We're going to need a vacuum because in here there's probably going to be a lot of ground
4:01
And we want to vacuum now before we go ahead and douse this thing with cleaning solof
4:07
and water to clean it up. Our cleaning solvent here, just a homemade solution
4:15
It's basically just washing detergent and some vinegar, actually a lot of vinegar, because the vinegar helps
4:24
break up the algae buildup on there. So you're going to let this sit for a while
4:28
That's why you want to have this unit off out here, more than likely because you don't want somebody getting hot inside
4:35
and turning on the AC. the AC and your fans are being out of control because we're going to have to remove this
4:43
Lastly you need a water hose and this is just to do the final rents after everything is all cleaned up and also you may want to pre-rents it before adding your solution
4:57
Now first thing we're going to do is we're going to remove the stock unit
5:05
Okay, everything's loose. All these are the same size
5:19
So just put these somewhere safe, but they'll just go back any place you want to
5:24
print when you put the top back on. Now, on this unit, all our runners are over on this side
5:29
So we're just going to simply lift this up. want to be given and you want to watch out for our clothes
5:39
Let's not know where they wear
5:53
Make sure there's not too much pressure on these tables right here
6:05
Dead bra. You'll see inside my unit, like I said, I clean this up pretty well all the time
6:17
It's pretty clean. Just got a little debris I got a vacuum out
6:22
And these scams, you don't really have to worry about it here. This was damaged by the factory because when they were assembling it, they don't take too much pride
6:31
But just make sure the rest of your fans, are pretty clean. Now when you're cleaning inside here you're going to want to
6:41
focus on these drain ports and vacuum these out. You may like this one seems pretty
6:47
clogged because this is what's going to drain the water out of your unit. Now we're just
6:53
going to vacuum out and stuff in the bottom here. Now we're pretty much cleaned out inside
7:18
So as you can see we still have a little dirt in here but we can rinse out with a water hose But we pretty good inside here Good Now we got some water in here We just to spray the cat
7:30
And then we're going to spray our unit. And then we're going to just spray our wire vicar me on the coils
7:50
Okay, now they do offer cleaners for this
8:04
I've never used it, I've never had a problem, but you may want one of them
8:09
And if you have a lot of dirt built up on your coals, you're going to have to go ahead and remove this out of rack, and then you take a soft bristle brush, brush
8:20
and you'll just ride along them coals. Be very gentle. Don't push too hard
8:25
Don't bend these. You bend these, you're going to reduce your efficiency
8:32
Okay, so it's been about 30 minutes, getting hot in the house
8:38
Can't find the place to cool down. Came out here and scrubbed the bottom a little bit
8:42
That vinegar really helped to break up the algae at the bottom
8:46
So I just took a brush and scrubbed it down. And it looks good to go. So we're going to rinse this off and put this thing back together
9:03
And the reason I don't put an attachment on the end of it is because I just want the full
9:07
water flow to get as far into the coals as I can
9:11
I don't use a pressure wash on it because going through here it can hit one and go in
9:17
here and it could bend the insides of your fence. That would be a bad thing. So with this
9:23
all cleaned up, this is what we look like on the inside. So you see we're pretty pretty
9:27
clean here and yeah, it should give us some improved cooling even though it was already
9:34
clean. And if you see out here, I don't know if you can see that, but you see them coals in
9:40
there and they're not green or anything, that's a good thing. You don't want green cools
9:44
Now we're going to put this fan back on without damage in the unit
9:51
Our wires are going to stay over here, so we're going to pick this up and set this on
10:17
Okay, that looks pretty damn good. Let me just pick this up and bring it over the outside
10:34
Good to go, let's get this screwed back down. Now when I'm screwing this down, I'm going to start over here where there's not the scrape
10:45
These are the holes that must line up and then for a screw hole, a screw in
10:55
I like to start these by hand. That way I know I'm not stripping anything out
11:01
That it We good to go Now we go ahead and put the rest of the screws in
11:15
Just out here. And basically that's all you have to do to clean up your AC
11:27
Now with the HOA, you see I have a plastic fence here. I put a plastic fence up and they said
11:32
Why not just bushes? Well, bushes when you go around here, they increase the amount of debris and build up you get inside your AC
11:41
I didn't want that. I like a cool house because if you notice, I'm sweating
11:46
Now we have the AC run, so I'm going to go inside and pull off. Okay, so we got the AC all cleaned up, and we do this every year
11:57
So we didn't know it's a big difference in temperature change in the house, but, you know, if your A.C
12:02
see a struggling you're gonna see it running a lot longer and you don't want that
12:08
because depending on the size of your AC unit you're looking at like this one's
12:14
4.5 ton so you're gonna be pulling 50 kilowatts a power I mean not 50
12:21
kilowatts 5 kilowatts of power or is it no it's 50 amps every hour so
12:28
that's a lot of power just know that we use 50 kilowatt hours at
12:32
day. Yeah, so. In the house, the entire house, so I don't know. The more you can keep your equipment
12:41
running efficiently, the better. It actually looks a lot cleaner. I mean, we're getting some sun
12:47
damage on the top, but this is actually only like four years old, I think. Yeah, the paint is not as
12:54
important as what's in the coal, and that's why I've talked about she putting bushes around
12:59
your AC unit probably not a good idea and that's why we say many people that are doing
13:04
that around here and their their AC units are full of crap even out here in the open you saw
13:11
how much crap i vacuum down here so after you get done with this and you're hungry go check out
13:19
