Rebuild Engine, Budget Busted EP #12 || Bayliner Bowrider 175

Well, just killed the budget as our engine repair went from $800 when we were just replacing the head, to $2,400 to replace the long block. We lost the $800, this was money that we used buying the new head and gasket, but you live and learn. At the end of this project, we will total up all the cost if you have the same project in mind. When we got the new head on we got low compression in cylinder 3 and 4 on our boat. While we may have been able to run the engine like this, it probably would have used a lot of oil. This would not have been good for the environment and wildlife in our lakes and oceans. This is probably why we found so much oil left under the seat in our Bayliner Bowrider from the previous owner.
