Custom Boat Speaker Plates Painted EP #42 || Bayliner Bowrider 175
To go with our grey boat theme we opted to paint our custom speaker plates. I did like the wood grain but it just didn't work with anything else in the boat. We used paint to seal the wood then added Kiwi Grip to add texture. All the materials used for this project were scrapes from other projects so the cost was so low just time. The reason for this project because the old speakers in the boat were rust 6x9s and we had 6.5 speakers lying around. The holes they had cut into the boat were in a place that when the 6x9 was mounted it had a large gape because of a curve in the body mold. The new speaker panels to about an hour to cut out and paint, and covered the 6x9 hole without the gap, while covering the rust and ugliness left by the old speakers.
