Christopher Redding

I was never a writer, constantly failing English in school, I felt that writing was not for me. Over 20 years later Danielle and I started a blog, weird right. Danielle loves to write and supports me in my own writing as she creates her own content on this blog. We got our start on YouTube "ChrisDoesWhat" to improve ourselves, we continue to help others. Then we expanded our YouTube Channel with this blog, it seemed like a logical next step. We continual are looking for ways to improve ourselves, who knows where the journey will take us, what our next steps will be. We met in Washington State at Fort Lewis Army base and got married 3 months later in 1997. We have traveled the world at first only because of the Army, later we traveled on our own cause we loved it. We have two adult size boys, one in the AirForce, the other in HighSchool and taking college classes.

Better To Float While cleaning out the boat we discovered the bilge pump did not work, that is bad. It started smoking when we filled the bilge with water looking for leaks. It got very exciting as to disconnect the bilge pump in hopes to save the wiring.  This also reminded us why it is so …

Battery Power | Boat Restoration

Battery Good While the battery can be the last thing you think of, we did not want this marine battery to go bad. One of the first things we bought on our boat restore journey was a battery charger from Amazon. This charger was only $20 and will do what we need, keep the battery …

Figured while we had the engine torn down in our inboard outboard boat, it was the best time to replace the bilge pump on this sterndrive Bayliner. The bilge pump started smoking when we were washing the boat out and filled the bilge with water. It was a scramble to get it unplugged so it …

Stuck Valve Merc 3.0 | Boat Restoration

Cleaning The Boat Before we dived into repairs we had to clean the engine. You don’t have to be covered in grease to feel like a proper Greasemonkey. Instead of cleaning the boat in the driveway we went to the car wash with a few cans of de-greaser, and a bunch of quarters. The hardest part …

Remove Head Off Mercruiser 3.0 Liter EP #3 || Bayliner Bowrider 175

Took us about 2 hours to take the head off this boat engine for a Mercruiser 3.0 Liter engine in a 2004 Bayliner 175 Bowrider. The head did have a valve that was stuck, so we are going to have to get that machined, but I was really happy with the condition of all the …
