Christopher Redding

I was never a writer, constantly failing English in school, I felt that writing was not for me. Over 20 years later Danielle and I started a blog, weird right. Danielle loves to write and supports me in my own writing as she creates her own content on this blog. We got our start on YouTube "ChrisDoesWhat" to improve ourselves, we continue to help others. Then we expanded our YouTube Channel with this blog, it seemed like a logical next step. We continual are looking for ways to improve ourselves, who knows where the journey will take us, what our next steps will be. We met in Washington State at Fort Lewis Army base and got married 3 months later in 1997. We have traveled the world at first only because of the Army, later we traveled on our own cause we loved it. We have two adult size boys, one in the AirForce, the other in HighSchool and taking college classes.

Fiberglass Sanding

Sanding Bilge | Boat Restoration

Sanding Day It got a little hot with all this safety gear on, flashback to wearing MOP4 in the military, but fiberglass is not that good for your lungs. While sanding it felt like any breeze there was stopped, sanding the bilge and stringers to prepare it all for fiberglass feels like the hardest part …

Boat Bilge, Preparing for Fiberglass - Chris Does What

Boat Bilge. Preparing for Fiberglass EP #11 || Bayliner Bowrider 175

I think sanding Boat Bilge and Stringers is the most uncomfortable part of the restore of this 2004 Bayliner Bowrider 175. We don’t think that the new floor will leak water, but if it does we don’t want the stringers to rot. Fiberglass is amazing, but installing it has to be the hardest part of …

Boat Restore Budget - Chris Does What

Budget-Friendly Boat Restore EP #9 || Bayliner Bowrider 175

We go over what we think this boat restore will cost and what we have spent so far. The Mercurice 3.0 engine only needs a cylinder head to fix the issue. The rest of the thing in the project to restore this 2004 Bayliner Bowrider 175, though cheaper, will nickel and dime your wallet. Well, …

Boat Floor Demolition | Boat Restoration

Boat Floor Demolition Time Let’s go over the required tools and accessories before we start the boat floor demolition. It is a great idea to get yourself a good breathing mask with eye protection (Mold spores bad, breathing good). Tools we used were a skill saw, crowbar, hammer, and a shovel. The shovel will be explained …

Boat Oxidation And Floor Removed EP #8 || Bayliner Bowrider 175

We have most of the Oxidation from our boat gel coat and the floor is out. With just a little TLC we have seen a great improvement in our 2004 Bayliner Bowrider 175 boat. We still keep taking things off the boat like the rub rail and discover more areas that need attention. My wife …

Installed Seaflow Bilge Pump - Chris Does What

Seaflo Boat Bilge Water Pump 750gph EP #6 || Bayliner Bowrider 175

Installed the Seaflo bilge pump and the first day of testing in our boat and we love it. May get another one just to have a spare in the bilge, at $29 it does not cost much. Danielle’s biggest fears on the ocean are sinking and sharks, this pumps water out of the boat faster …
