Getting close to starting, have to primp the oil pump and install the distributor at top dead center number one. In this video, we show how we prime the oil pump on the cheap, and then how to find top dead center on the number one cylinder using a compression gauge and a screwdriver. With then put the plug wires on showing the firing order.
When we got our boat back from the mechanic, not only did we have a lot of missing pieces, there was an oil pump in the box. This had us a bit worried because we already had to buy the missing pieces, but to put in an oil pump would require us to pull the engine. Luckily after doing all the test in this video, our minds were put at ease as we saw the oil pressure rise on our oil pressure test gauge.
