Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Slow Cooker Temperature: High
Slow Cooking Time: 4 1/2 – 5 Hours (If using Low Setting, Slow Cook for 7 1/2 – 8 Hours)
Slow Cooker Whole Chicken Ingredients:
5 – 6 Pound Whole Chicken
2 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 Teaspoons Ground Cumin
1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
2 Teaspoons Garlic Powder
2 Teaspoons Salt
1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
Slow Cooker Whole Chicken Instructions:
1. First, you will need your Slow Cooker or Crockpot. Unpackage the Whole Chicken and Make sure the Neck and Guts are out of it, then put the Chicken in the Slow Cooker. Next Brush the outside of the Chicken with Extra Virgin Olive Oil. In a Bowl, Mix the Ground Cumin, Chili Powder, Garlic Powder, Salt and Ground Black Pepper. Then Sprinkle the Seasonings all over the top of the Whole Chicken. Do Not add water!
2. Now, Put the lid on the Slow Cooker and turn the Temperature on High (Low if you want to cook the Chicken for 8 Hours). Slow Cook for 4 1/2 – 5 Hours. Most Whole Chickens have a Thermometer Pop-Up, Make Sure that has Popped up before Serving. If your Whole Chicken Doesn’t have a Pop-Up, Make Sure the Chicken Reads 180 Degrees F with a Thermometer.
