Oven Fried Chicken is our favorite way to make a Healthier Fried Chicken! These do not Disappoint! We use Wheat Flour because it is heavier, sticks to the Chicken better without having to use Eggs and is Crispier than White Flour. Prep Time: 20 Minutes
Marinating Time: 30 Minutes – 1 Hour
Oven Temperature: 375 Degrees Fahrenheit
Oven Frying Time: 40 – 50 Minutes
Oven Fried Tex Mex Chicken Nuggets Ingredients:
2 – 2.5 Pounds Boneless Chicken Thighs or Breasts
3 Tablespoons Fresh Minced Garlic (about 3 cloves)
4 Tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
2 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
3 Teaspoons Ground Cumin
1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
1 Teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
2 Teaspoons Salt
1 1/2 – 2 Cups Wheat Flour (works best with Wheat Flour for Crispy Chicken)
1/3 – 1/2 Cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil (this is for the Baking Sheet for Oven Frying)
Oven Fried Tex Mex Chicken Nuggets Instructions:
1. First, you will need to prepare the Boneless Chicken. Cut the Chicken into about 2 inch Nuggets (you want these small not a Big Fillets) and put them in a Bowl. Add Fresh Minced Garlic, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Lemon Juice, Ground Cumin, Chili Powder, Ground Black Pepper and Salt. Mix up all the Ingredients, Making sure all the Chicken pieces are Coated with the Marinade. Marinate for 30 Minutes – 1 Hour (the longer the better).
2. Next, You will need a Nonstick Baking Sheet (or use Parchment Paper to make sure the Breaded Chicken does not stick to the Pan). Add 1/3 to 1/2 Cup of Extra Virgin Olive Oil to the Baking Sheet. Now, You need a Bowl, add the Wheat Flour to the Bowl. Next, Start Coating the Chicken Nuggets with the Wheat Flour then Put them on the Baking Sheet. Continue until all the Chicken has been Floured.
3. PreHeat Oven at 375 Degrees F. Put the Chicken Nuggets in the Oven and Bake for 20 Minutes. Then Flip the Chicken Over and Bake for 20 – 30 Minutes until Crispy. Take out and Let Cool for a few Minutes before Serving.
