Why We Move From Bluehost To Ezoic

This year, we had to move our website from Bluehost to Ezoic WordPress hosting. What finally broke the camel’s back was almost a week of poor performance with daily outages. When I asked what the problem was, they repeatedly told us that we have too many pictures on our site and they should be removed. The majority of our posts are recipes with four to five images, so removing them wasn’t an option.

Bluehost Wants More Money

They then suggested we move to their dedicated hosting, which costs quite a bit more. A small site like ours cannot afford more money when shared hosting costs $374 a year. Our website only gets around 10,000 views per month, but before the server issues, it was up to 20,000. According to what Bluehost told me when they sold us the Pro plan three years ago, this should not have been an issue. They said this plan should be enough for about 100,000 views per month, not close to our current traffic, guess not.

The Truth Comes Out

Bluehost finally informed me that each server hosts hundreds of sites. Because they don’t regulate sites that behave badly, one site could consume a lot of resources. This really hurt user experience at peak times. Though I did not let them know, I had been in communication with Ezoic about their solution months earlier.

Ezoic Really Does Webhosting For Free

You may know Ezoic as a Ad management company boosting ad performance from advertising companies like Google AdSense. It’s likely you are unaware that Ezoic offers free WordPress hosting, yet unlike Bluehost, Ezoic has a vested interest in your site’s performance. They receive 10% of your ad revenue when they manage your ads. The hosting is a bonus. Additionally, they ensure that your site is running smoothly  making you and Ezoic more money.
Ezoic Website Performance

Is 10% to high

You may ask why you should use Ezoic at 10% of your ad revenue. Well it is simple, you save the hosting cost, which for us was $450 a year. We saw over 100% growth in revenue from me placing the ads on our site to them doing it for me. Last but not least, I don’t have to place the ads on our site or keep up with any changes our advertisers make. So this is a win-win for us, less cost for hosting, less administration, more revenue.
