Our Turkey Chili has been a Family Favorite for over 5 years! When we lived in Texas, it was the perfect winter comfort food! Ground Turkey is more common in our home than Ground Beef, so developing a Delicious Turkey Chili was a must! This recipe actually won Second Place at a work Chili cook off 4 years ago and we had lots of encouraging compliments, so we felt this recipe needed to be one of our Delicious Recipes on our Blog! We think you will enjoy this slightly spicy Slow Cooker Turkey Red Bean Chili as much as we do!

Cooking Time: 8 Hours

Turkey Chili

Slow Cooker Turkey Red Bean Chili Ingredients:

16 Ounce Dry Red Kidney Beans
(TIP: You can Substitute 4/15 Ounce Cans of Drained Red Kidney Beans)
6 Cups Water
2 Pounds Ground Turkey
1 28 Ounce Can Crushed Tomatoes
2 Tablespoons Chicken Bullion
(We highly recommend the Better Than Bullion!)
4 Tablespoons Fresh Minced Garlic (We love Garlic, so we buy in Bulk)
3 Teaspoons Ground Cumin

1 Teaspoon Chili Powder
1/2 Teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1/2 Teaspoon Black Pepper
2 Teaspoons Salt (We love Pink Himalayan Salt)

Slow Cooker Turkey Red Bean Chili Instructions:

1. For this Recipe, First thing to do is Soak the Red Kidney Beans in about 8 Cups of Water Overnight or 6 – 8 Hours. Then Drain and Rinse the Red Kidney Beans. In your Slow Cooker or Crock Pot, Turn it to High Temperature, add soaked and Drained Red Kidney Beans and 6 Cups of Water. Put the lid on and let just the Beans Cook for 4 Hours.
(Beans have a tough Skin and can be hard to get soft, Cooking Dry Beans by themselves with No salts or ingredients allows the Beans to cook all the way through and they will be soft!)

TIP: If you are using Canned Beans, Skip to Instruction #2! No need to Soak the Beans or Precook the Beans! Make Sure to still add the Water – About 4 Cups, in the Slow Cooker!)
